With SharePoint, data storage is migrated from the file server to the SharePoint server. The result is a rapid increase in the volumes of data stored on the SharePoint server, which makes it necessary to reduce the load on these systems and their resources.

With the Arcplace SharePoint archiving solution, SharePoint data can be archived efficiently according to a pre-defined archiving policy. At the same time, the availability and accessibility of the archived data remains transparent to users.

Paper documents can also be easily scanned and transferred to SharePoint before being archived.

Key benefits of SharePoint Archiving:

  • Migrate data to archive
Files can automatically be migrated out of SharePoint and replaced with references to the archived data.
  • Easy access to archived data
Users can retrieve archived data using the familiar SharePoint Portal interface.
  • Archive data automatically
Individually configurable archiving rules, e.g. by file size, type or age.
  • Status- & version-dependent archiving
SharePoint data can be archived on the basis of the project status or version, whilst preserving versioning.
  • Comprehensive search
Users can create complex search queries and submit powerful searches across all archived data.
  • Single instance archiving
Eliminates the storage of multiple instances of data.
  • Long-term accessibility
Automatic data integrity checks performed by the infrastructure of the archiving system and conversion of content into standardized formats ensure long-term readability.
  • Audit
Administrators can review the log files which record activities in the archive, including information about who viewed or changed which record and when.
